To The Wilderness

(WEB) Joshua 5:6 —

“6 For the children of Israel walked forty years in the wilderness, until all the nation, even the men of war who came out of Egypt, were consumed, because they didn’t listen to YHWH’s voice. YHWH swore to them that he wouldn’t let them see the land which YHWH swore to their fathers that he would give us, a land flowing with milk and honey.”

As times were, times will be again. Israel’s captivity will turn and they will again be free. There is a cost to freedom and it is not free.

Freedom for Israel is obedience to YHWH’s law ands depending exclusively on him. That involves shedding the slave mentality of Egypt which is a mindset including carnality, stubbornness (of mind and action), and a deeply ingrained comfort with being in bondage.

Freedom involves self-sufficiency. A nation that can provide for itself, without the aid of another nation, is one that can sustain itself.

Freedom involves standing/fighting for what YHWH has deemed to be right. This is going to become more apparent as Israel becomes a sovereign nation under YHWH; what would be a greater threat than a nation with increasing power and authority that no other nation can control or subdue?

Freedom, for Israel, is letting go of the idols and practices that ensnared them in bondage in the first place.

A belief that Israel stubbornly holds onto this very day is Nimrod and/or Semiramis worship. Call it by any modern-day religion, or paint the idols any color of the palette, it has the same singular pagan origin.

What has YHWH decreed on who Israel should honor exclusively?

Isaiah 43:10 —

10 “You are my witnesses,” says YHWH, “With my servant whom I have chosen; that you may know and believe me, and understand that I am he. Before me there was no God formed, neither will there be after me. 11 I myself am YHWH; and besides me there is no savior.

Isaiah 43:14 —

14 YHWH, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel says: “For your sake, I have sent to Babylon, and I will bring all of them down as fugitives, even the Chaldeans, in the ships of their rejoicing. 15 I am YHWH, your Holy One, the Creator of Israel, your King.

Isaiah 45:5-7 —

5 I am YHWH, and there is no one else. Besides me, there is no God. I will strengthen* you, though you have not known me; 6 that they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is no one besides me. I am YHWH, and there is no one else. 7 I form the light, and create darkness. I make peace, and create calamity. I am YHWH, who does all these things.

I encourage you to read, “House Cleaning: Keeping the Clean, Discarding the Profane“.

How many times does YHWH have to tell you who is supremely and exclusively the one your allegiance should be with, Israel? Come correct before YHWH, Israel, or perish in the wilderness as those in the last exodus.
